Solo Jazz & Charleston
Level 2: Choreo & Jam
Join us for Level 2 on Wednesday evenings online!
Join us for this Level 2 Solo Jazz class. In this class we’ll be taking your Solo Jazz to the next level by working on step variations, mash ups and combos, mini-choreos and maybe some improvisation work.
Improvised Solo Jazz
£5 per person per class, payable by PayPal to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please email us if an alternative payment option is required.
Basic repertoire knowledge will be assumed in this class, so it’s not suitable for absolute beginners. Ideal for anyone who’s got some Solo Jazz experience or has learnt Solo Jazz routines such as the Shim Sham, Al & Leon’s Shim Sham, the Stew, the Tranky Doo, Trickeration etc and fancies a challenge.
Step 1: Register on Zoom to book your spot on the class.
Note: These classes will be hosted on the video conferencing service Zoom, which you’ll need to download/register for in advance of the class (it’s free!).
Step 2: Join the RSJ Solo Jazz & Charleston Class facebook group for updates and notifications.
Step 3: By Wednesday lunchtime each week on the RSJ Solo Jazz & Charleston Class group, we’ll post up the meeting link that you’ll need to join the class the following evening, so be sure to check the group for the latest link.
Step 4: A little before 7pm on Wednesday evening, use the link to log into to the class. We’ll kick off just after 7pm, so make sure you’re ready to go when you log in.
Floor: If possible select a room with a non-carpeted floor; wood flooring is best where possible.
Risk: Risk assess your space! Look out for things you could bump into or knock over. Clear space by removing or moving furniture where possible and clear any potential trip hazards.
Clothes: Wear comfortable clothes allow you to move.
Footwear: Footwear should be comfortable, not too grippy and not to slippy on your flooring. If your shoes are too grippy, you can do this class in socks, just be mindful to keep your weight centered so you don’t slip over and look out for anything sharp on your flooring.
Hydrate: Have water to hand!
Rules: Throughout the class look out for yourself. If you feel any pain, stop. If you need a rest, take a break. Drink as and when you need. Take it at your own pace – there’s no judgement or competition here, we’re all just having fun.
