Join Barnaby Wheeler (HCC heritage architect) and Matthew Williams (Reading Museum) to explore one of Reading’s most historic spaces – St Laurence’s churchyard. Discover its links to the foundation and dissolution of Reading Abbey (celebrating its 900th anniversary this year). And hear about the 2015 restoration of the historic churchyard wall and this summer’s conservation of several ‘at risk’ 18th and 19th century chest tombs within the churchyard.
