Would you like to be involved in a cultural project to celebrate the history and diverse cultures of the Oxford Road?
Reading Borough Council is looking to work with groups, organisations and communities from the Oxford Road area to discover creative opportunities and develop new projects with local people that celebrates the history and diverse cultures of the area as part of Reading's High Street Heritage Action Zone Cultural Programme. Small grants of up to £4,000 could be yours to set up and run your creative project idea with the members of your group and/or your local community

Full line-up and new opening date announced for Market Yard Printhouse
Friday 26th November is the new opening date for Market Yard Printhouse, with a full calendar of events to take place during its five week run featuring big name DJs, live acts (including chart toppers East 17), drag queen dancers, stand-up comedy, a power ballad singalong night, the UK’s no. 1 Adele tribute act and much more.

‘Welcome to Reading’ Volunteer Ambassadors up and running at Reading Station
A new volunteer-led scheme to welcome visitors to Reading is up and running at Reading Station but more volunteers are needed. Organised by Reading UK, a team of local volunteers is providing an information service to visitors arriving by train, playing their part in Reading’s economic recovery by providing a warm welcome, local information and directions.
Building for Progress
Progress Theatre are raising funds to cover the cost of much-needed renovations to increase the size of the foyer, replace their washrooms with unisex facilities, and adding a new accessible toilet - helping to make their venue more accessible to all. Progress Theatre strives to be inclusive and to engage with the entire local community, encouraging participation from people who may otherwise find it difficult to access theatre and the arts.
